Business Live: National Board of Revenue (NBR) chairman Md Nojibur Rahman said NBR has been thinking to launch a mobile app in line with the proposal of the business men to collect Value Added Tax (VAT).
“We’re seriously thinking of launching a mobile app to collect VAT,” he said while speaking at the opening session of a workshop on VAT and income tax here today. Member (Tax) of NBR Md. Zakir Hossain made presentation on their respective sectors.
The workshop was organized by Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) and among others, Member (Tax) of NBR Parvez Iqbal, Member (VAT) Barrister Jahangir Hossain and Deputy Project Director, VAT online project Md. Zakir Hossain made presentation on their respective sectors.
NBR chairman Md. Nojibur Rahman said the new VAT law is very easy, inclusive, hassle-free and business friendly. The new VAT law will be hassle free and SME friendly, he said.
DCCI president Abul Kasem Khan in his speech said the government is going to enact new VAT law from July 1.
If the government reduces tax and VAT rates, investment will automatically increase in the country, he added.
