Lessons provided by Peace schools and its atmosphere are suitable to inspire militancy rather then promoting country’s history and welfare, the minister briefed the journalists before attending a programme at Cirdap auditorium in Dhaka..
Proper steps will be taken against Peace schools authority after completing the investigations, he added.
Earlier on Tuesday, the education ministry asked the home ministry to shut down the Peace schools immediately.
“We have taken the decision as the educational institutions have no approval from the government,” the minister remarked on Tuesday evening.
Earlier on May 22, the government instructed the law enforcer agencies to keep sharp eye on ‘Peace schools and colleges’ across the country.
The intelligence report following the government instructions disclosed that around 27 “Peace schools” in six districts were being run by pro-Jamaat-e-Islami.
The report also stated that a portion of the income from these schools was being spent on the party’s organisational activities.
