‘Youths should come forward to build Digital Bangladesh’


RU Live:  Rajshahi University (RU) Vice-chancellor Professor Abdus Sobhan here today said youths should come forward to build Digital Bangladesh through innovative activities as they were considered to be driving force for development of the society.

“Present government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is extending assistance to youths so that they could make themselves as ICT-based income-generators,” he said.

He was addressing the opening ceremony of a daylong seminar titled “Innovative Competition 2017: Your Innovation Can Give Solution of any National Problem” at RU Senate Bhaban here today as the chief guest.

RU organized the seminar in association with A2I programme of prime minister’s office.

Pro-VC Professor Ananda Kumar Shaha, Students Adviser Professor Mijanur Rahman and Shahida Sultana and Irfan Ahmed Khan from A2I Programme also spoke at the opening session.

Professor Sobhan said the government has been working relentlessly for reaching all services to the people’s doorsteps in a hassle-free manner.

The common people have already started getting digital services like e- governance, e-education, e-agriculture, e-health and other e-services at the union, upazila and district levels, he said.

The country must be built as digital Bangladesh to ensure its middle income status by 2021, he added.

He, however, called upon all people to work unitedly to achieve the ‘Vision 2021.
