Entertainment Live: Jannatul Ferdoush Peya, one of the most high-profile fashion models of the country, added another feather to her hat of acclaims.
The glamorous diva represented Bangladesh at this year’s New York Fashion Week (NYFW), one of the biggest fashion events in the world.
Peya was named the Bangladesh brand ambassador of TRESemmé, a top hair care and styling brand which is also the hairstyling partners of NYFW.
At New York Fashion Week, TRESemmé took front row in creating styles that become fashion statement.
At this iconic event, Peya, a model influencer on behalf of TRESemmé Bangladesh, walked the ramp and participated in miscellaneous segments of the event.
Makeup artist Nahila Hedayet also participated as the hair stylist influencer.
This is the first time Bangladesh was represented at the grand event, according to a press release.
The New York Fashion week ran from February 9-16, bringing together brands, designers, models and everyone related to the world of fashion.
Peya said, “I am ecstatic to have been able to participate in NYFW. At the same time, I’m proud to represent Bangladesh at such a prestigious event.”
Born and raised in a conservative Muslim family in Khulna, a career in modelling wasn’t an easy road to tread for Jannatul Ferdoush Peya. Her love for fashion and a chance meeting with well-known Bangladeshi photographer Apurbo Abdul Latif lead her to participate in, and win, the Miss Bangladesh contest just after she finished school.
In 2010, she bagged her first big campaign with clothing line Aarong and soon ventured into acting. “Deepika Padukone is a huge inspiration—like her, I too want to expand my career beyond my country,” says the law graduate who is currently interning with Dr Kamal Hossain & Associates, one of Dhaka’s biggest law firms.
Her dream job is to work with Karl Lagerfeld. He’s an icon!”
