IT Live: State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak today said construction work of Information Technology (IT) Park in Bakalia area in the city at a cost of TK 300 crore will begin soon.
He said the country’s first IT Park would be set up on 14 acres of land on the embankment of the Karnaphuli River soon.
“At the initial stage, construction work of IT village will be start at a cost of TK 40 crore and the IT Park would be set up at a cost of TK 300 core within next five years in phases to develop Chittagong as a full-fledged digital city” Palak said.
Speaking at the function city Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said the declaration of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to build an IT-based digital Bangladesh is being gradually implemented.
Female lawmaker Waseka Ayesha Khan, divisional commissioner of Chittagong Ruhul Amin, Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer council S M Asharaful Islam and Cluster Market Director of Robi Aziata Limited Nazir Ahmed were special guests at the ceremony, presided over by Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shamsul Arefin.
