IT Live: To bring opportunities to the users to experience and get the latest editions of smartphone and tablet computer brands, the ADATA Smartphone & Tab Expo 2017 has been started from Thursday morning.
The three-day technology gadget expo at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre at Agargaon in the capital will continue till Saturday. The expo arena open till 8PM every day. There are 11 pavilions and 8 stalls at expo. Besides, there is ticket booth and Media Booth for supporting media people on reporting.
Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman inaugurated the fair officially on Thursday afternoon while State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak was special guest on the occasion. Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) President Mustafa Jabbar and Bangladesh Open Source Network General Secretary Munir Hasan were guests of honor here.

“In 2009, when we initiated the ‘Digital Bangladesh’ theme, a class of people teased us as an impossible tasks then. We planned to connect the young generations to empower them with bless of technology. Smartphone is the best way to reach an unreached one. The smart devices are now the leading medium of connectivity,” Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman said while addressing the inaugural session of the expo as chief guest.
The Minister also appreciated Expo Maker for organizing the event for seventh time, saying, “Smart phone and Tab Expo becomes an annual occasion for all of us to celebrate smart solutions as well as raising awareness among mass.”
Special guest ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said there are around 2.75 crore of people are using smart phone and the figure will be 5 crore by 2020.
Mustafa Jabbar said “Developing countries like USA and India are following Bangladesh as the nation achieved a mile stone of $ 700 million of export target. We are very hopeful to celebrate the $ 1 billion export target in information and technology sector in Digital World in 2018.
Munir Hassain said that the connectivity is the main fact to reach technology will good will. There are around 2 core and 20 lakh of Bangladeshis are now connected over Facebook. Its only could possible for having smart phone in affordable range,”
In this edition of the expo, there are available all state-of-art technology-based smart phones and tablets of all globally renowned brands under one shed. Meanwhile, ADATA, Samsung, Huawei, Linnex Mobile, Oppo, Symphony, WE, LAVA, Xiaomi, Gadget Gang 7, Cell Stream, MyCell, Micromax, lenovo, Coolpad, Mango, Meizu, Kiksha.com, Ajkerdeal.com are, among others brands, participate here.
Expo Maker’s Head of Operations Nahid Hasnain Siddique said, the participant companies are offering special price cut and gift items during the fair. The visitors will be able to pick smart devices from a variety of brands under one roof. There will be some other special arrangements as well for visitors.
An online contest titled “Smart Battle 2017” is also in place in the official page of Smartphone & Tab Expo on Facebook (facebook.com/STExpo). Winners of this contest will be awarded with gift items that include smartphones from Huawei, LAVA and Linnex mobile brands.
